In 2014, for example, the Indianapolis Star abandoned the building it had occupied downtown for over 100 years and moved into space formerly leased by Nordstrom department store at Circle Centre in 2014. In early 2020, Simon Property made a $3.6 million deal to acquire Taubman Centers, another competing company. One of Simon’s major roles in this partnership was serving as the day-to-day manager of the facility. Its Indianapolis interests also included a public-private partnership with the city in Circle Centre Mall. This problem was quickly resolved, with the help of Bee Access, by redesigning a new parapet clamp that would correctly secure to the buildings architectural design. A traditional parapet clamp would not properly attach to the existing precast. The swing stage setup created several of its own challenges. American Scaffolding Inc integrated ladders and access swing gates to allow safe access to the different tiered levels of the overhead protection. Challenges included creating a safe temporary structure that would not obstruct normal daily activities for the Simon Building’s occupants, while still allowing access to and from the swing stage. was selected by Architectural Glass & Metal Company, Inc to design an overhead protection that would allow people as well as vehicular traffic to continue its normal flow to and from the building’s entrances and exits.
